Dear Christian Church in Ohio Congregations, Clergy, & Lay Leaders,
Greetings in the name and by the grace of Jesus Christ! We pray you are well and that the mission and ministry of your congregation is healthy and serving your community well. We hold you regularly in prayer and are eager to learn from you how the Regional Church Council and Staff can serve you more fully.
We are aware that sometimes it feels like the ministry of the Regional Church is not well known by or connected to the leaders and members of our local congregations and faith communities. We are working diligently to improve lines of communication, both through rebuilding personal relationships and upgrading our communication methods and insuring the highest excellence and regular frequency of the flow of information.
One of the ideas we are now putting into action is to provide each of our congregations with a poster that helps individuals more easily connect with our various means of communication. A laminated copy is included in this mailing and we hope you will post it in a prominent place as well as to inform your members through your own means of communication – newsletter, social media, and announcements in worship. You’ll note the primary means of Regional Church Communication include:
- Our monthly Regional Newsletters – Near the beginning of each month we have an All-Regional Church Newsletter that is filled with celebrations from our local congregations and leaders, news from congregations, the Regional Church, and the General Church, and a word of theological reflection from our Regional Pastor & President. Near the middle of the month we have a Congregational Leaders Mailing which has content more focused on leaders including the listing of open positions across Ohio and the denomination.
- Our Regional Church Website (www.CCinOH.org) – This website is an invaluable resource for all of the news, resources, events and event registration, including all of our summer camp, conference, and retreat information. All of our newsletters are also available here including extended articles too long for the email.
- Facebook Page – Our primary social media venue continues to be Facebook, and the main page for the Regional Church is https://www.facebook.com/OhioRegion. There are other pages and groups, including the Camp Christian Page and the Christian Church in Ohio Group. “Liking” our page ensures you will receive posts in your own feed as they are added.
- Instagram – We also use Instagram extensively, and a lot of persons follow our account for both the helpful information and the beautiful photographs and graphics: https://www.instagram.com/ccinoh/. Again, “following” our account will make sure you receive up-to-date posts in your own feed.
We do hope this poster will help link us more closely together as the body of Christ and the “ligaments” of communication will grow stronger and more flexible in the coming years (1 Cor. 12).
