January 8th, 2024 is the Extended Deadline For High School Student (Including Freshmen).
We are excited to partner and share this opportunity with youth from the Heartland Conference of the United Church of Christ. The International Affairs Seminar has been a vital part of the Ohio Christian Youth Fellowship since the early 1960’s. Well over 2,000 young people from Disciples congregations around Ohio have had the opportunity to travel to New York City and Washington D.C. for a week. The Seminar seeks to encourage faith-based critical thinking and reflection through prayer, worship, discussion and community building. For many, this has been a life changing experience, witnessing the many ways that faith plays a part in the decision making of our nation and the world.

The International Affairs Seminar (formerly United Nations (U.N.) Seminar) has been a vital part of the Ohio Christian Youth Fellowship (C.Y.F.) since the early 1960’s. From then to now well over a thousand young people from Disciples congregations around Ohio have had the opportunity to travel to New York City and Washington D.C. for a week. For many, this has been a life changing experience, witnessing the diverse ways that faith plays a part in the decision making of our nation and the world.
Financial Assistance: Please, don’t let money stop you from going on this awesome adventure. Contact Rev. Ralph Wearstler (email linked below) about additional Scholarships and other ways to secure funds from your local Church or Community Organizations (Eagles, Kiwanis, VFW, etc.) to help make the IA Seminar work.

These are just a few of the comments made by the thousand or more young adults who have had the opportunity to be a part of the United Nations International Affairs Seminar Tour sponsored by the Christian Church in Ohio since the early 1960's. Now known as "The International Affairs Seminar", it is organized every two years to enable Sophomore, Junior and Senior High School students from Disciples & UCC congregations around Ohio to experience how faith and government are linked together.
