INNW HeaderFrequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) in the context of a capital campaign for the Christian Church in Ohio's Region and Camp Christian serve as a concise resource to address common concerns and inquiries about the campaign. These questions typically cover topics such as the campaign's goals, the specific projects or improvements being funded (such as upgrades to Camp Christian), how the funds will be managed, ways individuals and congregations can contribute, and the overall impact of the campaign on the church community. Providing clear and transparent answers helps build trust, encourage participation, and ensure all supporters understand the importance and purpose of the fundraising effort.

Question 1: The Swimming Pool seems to be expensive - much more so than a backyard pool. Why?

Answer: Our swimming pool will be a commercial pool and has requirements (like a separate support building) that a private backyard pool does not have.

Question 2: How long will the campaign last?

Answer: This is a three year campaign though some people may choose to give for a longer period of time.

Question 3: When will the swimming pool be constructed and ready to use?

Answer: Our plan is to break ground in the spring of 2025 so that the pool can be completed and in use by Memorial Day weekend 2026.

Question 4: Is this a good time to be asking individuals and churches for additional funding?

Answer: Construction costs are expected to rise in coming years rather than fall. And we have been without a swimming pool at Camp Christian for six summers. If not now, when?

Question 5: What Regional Staff Positions Will Be Funded By The Campaign?

Answer: Current plans are to have seed money for three years for three positions: one full time and two part-time.  The full-time position would be a Conference Center Program Manager who would not only work with our clergy, congregations, Regional Church commissions and committees, and camp leaders, but with the broader community to increase the usage of our camp facilities and ensure high quality programming.  This person would also oversee publicity, registration, and program creation.  The two part-time positions would include a Bookkeeper to work with Treasury Services and our Regional Administrator on financial recordkeeping, and a Ministry Recording Secretary to work with documentation and database management for the Search & Call Process and the Commission on Ministry.  Our Development Committee will work to secure ongoing funding for all three positions.
