Purpose: To train a cadre of lay (non-clergy) preachers to fill pulpits in our Ohio churches either short term or long term. You don’t have to have attended the first session to participate in this one. Event sponsored by the Regional Elders.


Keynote – Creation of a Sermon, led by Rev. Nichole Mazza-Fredley

The Rev. Nichole "Nikki" Mazza-Fredley is an ordained minister living in Pittsburgh, PA.  She served churches in Hubbard and Findlay Ohio 2000-2008.  Since moving back to Pittsburgh, Nikki has been serving the church in various ways such as intentional interims, trainings, workshops, bereavement support, counseling, and keynoting.  Currently, Nikki is a Behavioral Support Specialist providing therapy and behavioral interventions to individuals with co-occurring diagnoses of mental health illness and developmental disabilities.  Nikki has led and been a part of many social justice organizations.  Currently, she is participating in the DEI Council, co-facilitator for Mon Yough's Social Justice and Inclusion Committee, and provides various methods of intervention and stabilization throughout the organization.


Nikki received her BA at Wheeling Jesuit University, her M.Div. at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and a post-graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership and Change through Robert Morris University.  Nikki has been married to Rob Fredley for the past 24 years and together they have two daughters.  Marci is a senior at Bethany College, and Isabella is a senior in high school.  Nikki spends her free time doing all artsy and crafty things.
